CHARTER:

The following is intended to detail the rights and priveleges of members as a part of the kinship

EXPECTATIONS:

We're all familiar with the Lotro Code of Conduct. Basically, don't be a jerk or distrupt the flow of chat channels with inflammatory subject matter that might be deemed insulting to others. Treat people how you expect to be treated and help other players out when an opportunity presents itself. From time to time, members should be willing to assist others in leveling characters and running or participating in content, and can expect the same in return. This is especially true of higher level player characters and officers.

COMMUNICATION:

The kinship's primary purpose is not a social function, but using kin chat to talk is certainly not discouraged provided the Lotro CoC is maintained, hot button issues are not pushed, and the atmosphere is kept cordial and encouraging. We typically play the game as a break from other demands and daily concerns.

In addition to in-game mail, members are encouraged (but not required) to use this website, because it is deemed an effective and thorough means of communicating wants, needs, ideas, and concerns, and allows for reflection and consideration in a way that the scrolling in-game chat window can not. The cost of this may mean that results will not be instantaneous. Ultimately, the burden of elicitng assistance must fall back upon individuals and members should feel comfortable asking for help of any kind. Respect will be given players for enjoying various aspects of the game alone and we do not want to badger or distract them by constantly assessing their needs.

RANK:

10 percent of the membership population will serve as officers. Within any active 90 day time period, priority will be given to communicative and participatory members, starting with level-capped character-members and down through level.

Advancement of recruits to member status is determined by various factors including: The player's activity with the kinship (which can include characters outside the kinship and may involve group content or role-playing), active communication with other members of the kinship, the demonstrated level of helpfulness extended to others in the kinship (which can include crafting or the exchange of needed materials and items), and length of time in the kinship (considering the aforementioned but not to exceed 30 days).

Contacts: Diorn (Current Leader), Osdeth (Successor)

KIN CHESTS:

The main kin chest is open for all members to share and traffic wares, but don't put anything in the chest that you expect to see again.

The secondary kinship's housing chest is also open to members, but players will have to indicate 1 kin character they would like to have manually added to the permissions list.

The 3rd kin chest is reserved for officers, who will also need to request which 1 member they would like access for.

Additional housing chests will open up based on interests and activities. At no time should anything from any of the chests be sold for profit. Access is not available to recruits at this time; Recruits are encouraged to ask for specific materials or items they may need and every effort to accomodate them will be made in a timely fashion (Part of the reason for this is to force conversation and facilitate getting to know them better).

KINSHIP PANEL PLAYER NOTES:

If you decide to enlist multiple characters, please use the kinship panel player note to indicate who your initial or main kinship character is. This isn't to police the activities of players, but just so people know who you are.

Please consider also adding your time zone to the note. Presently we have members in at least 4 different parts of the world and being able to quickly reference this will be advantageous in arranging any kind of group content, or just to know who you might expect to see on at any given time.

ACTIVITY:

It is not the intention of the kinship to create, foster, or entertain imagined roles of authority over members' gaming lives. As members of this kinship, all players are equally trusted and valued as individuals. Real life comes first of course; communication  with regard to extended absences is appreciated, but members will not be removed from the roster for inactivity.
